using photoshop as a way to create life drawings and images was at first very strange and different from what I'm used to and I'm sure most of my class as well. i was hesitant in using a mouse to create lines but soon grew accostomed to the way it felt and the types of gestures i should be using.
The first image that i created was mainly a warm up for the new techniques we'd be using, the pose lasted for only a couple of minuets until it was time to move on. I feel this was necessery in learning how to pick up on this new concept. I found that filling in the details weren't very important as it didn't leave enough time to focus on the bigger picture or the hole pose. After i finished the image i changed scheme of the hole picture by making it black and white as you can see below the first one. It has a very interesting effect as the picture is reversed in terms of the collour, it brings the figure out more and i think it looks more like a finalised piece rather than a sketch.
The next life drawing that i drew was of a pose that lasted five minuets, longer than the one before but still not an immence amount of time. I first created the drawing of the pose to try and capture the figure in front of me, then once complete i filled in the image using shadow, this improved the picture alot and i have really taken an intrest in this sort of style/technique. The black section behind the figure helps to give the picture some boldness and some background.
The last pose that we got to do was at least ten or so minuets and this really helped us to play around with the tools photoshop had to offer, again i created the sketch as a base but filled the background in with a block colour, once i was happy with the figure sketch i added in the extra colours and added some shadow to increase the tone and 3dness of the picture. I think they all worked out great and i am very pleased with the results that phoshop has helped achive.
